Duties: Directs FMR’s water quality program including watershed advocacy, Stream Health Evaluation Programs (SHEP) and the Vermillion Stewards project.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, environmental economics and public policy, the Colorado College

Professional experience: Since moving to Minnesota in 2001, worked on land use and transportation issues with the Sierra Club from 2002-2004. Also staffed campaigns for Minnesota Governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. President.

FMR accomplishment most proud of: “Our Stream Health Evaluation Program has grown into a successful and sought after volunteer monitoring program with great results in its first year. To see volunteers build such strong relationships with our water resources is an experience that I have been proud to be a part of.”

Hobbies: Music, cooking, camping, gardening, public art, lacrosse, crocheting, writing web profiles at work.

Other activities: VP & Operations Director for Minneapolis Lacrosse Association, a youth and high school citywide lacrosse program in Minneapolis. The Association runs youth, freshman and varsity/junior varsity high school programs for girls and boys.

Founder of “Kiddy-Village, Inc.,” a non-profit organization that hosts family-friendly children’s activities at festivals and community events in Minnesota. 2006 was its first year “and we’re working at 6-7 festivals this year.”

Favorite book: All I See Is Part Of Me (his seven-year-old daughter Hallie Mae’s favorite book), and whatever he’s reading at the moment.

Favorite musicians: Habib Koite, Bob Marley, Alice DiMicelli, Mark Murphy.

Favorite location on the river: The middle

Last big vacation: Costa Rica (2005)
