The DNR is in the process of creating rules for the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) a 72-mile corridor along the river extending from Dayton to Hastings. The agency published draft rules in June, held three public meetings in July to gather public input, and will begin revising the draft rules after August 15, 2014. They are also now holding a public comment period that is open until September 30. This is a 45-day extension from the previous deadline. Although the comment deadline has been extended, please dont delay in submitting your comments. The rule revision process has begun so the sooner you submit comments, the better.

FMR has made it easy to comment. We have drafted an editable sample message, which includes space and sample text and suggested key talking points. Commenting can take as little as five minutes. Please be sure to share your voice, values, and concerns to protect, enhance, and restore the Mississippi River corridor and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MNRRA) in the Twin Cities area for generations to come.

Please share your voice on this important river and national park issue!
