CP Adams Park on the Vermillion River, Hastings
Join other Vermillion Stewards volunteers and help clean up a stretch of shoreline
along the Vermillion River, an important tributary to the
Mississippi River and home to the only trophy trout streams close to
a metropolitan area in the nation.
CP Adams is a 40-acre park roughly a mile south of downtown Hastings. (Detailed directions will be sent to registrants, see below.) Volunteers will be picking up in areas near lakes and wetlands that
feed/border the Vermillion River. The park is known for both its
recreational activities — such as its frisbee golf course and paved
trails — and high-quality natural areas.
All supplies as well as water and snacks will be provided and FMR
staff will be on-hand for further direction and support as needed.
Volunteers are welcome to wear rubber boots to better access trash along the
waterline. Individuals, families and groups are all welcome.

You will be emailed a confirmation message within a week (sue is in Tuesdays through Thursdays) as well as a reminder message just before the event.
The Vermillion Stewards
This event is part of the Vermillion Stewards program, which helps
local residents learn about the watershed while working to protect and
enhance its unique natural resources. There will be many more Vermillion Stewards outings and activities this season, including a seed collection gathering, invasive species removal and habitat restoration events, and more cleanups! Cleanup participants will be emailed about future events. (Don't worry, we keep emails to a minimum, six to 10 a year, and do not give out volunteers' email addresses.)
Partners:
Thank you program partners Hastings High School, City of Hastings, Vermillion Watershed Joint Powers Organization, and Dakota County Soil & Water Conservation District.
