Working to protect the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area
Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) is currently seeking applicants for a summer events assistant internship. It is unpaid but offers a high-quality, fun experience in a professional yet camaraderie-filled environment, and is an excellent experience and résumé-builder.
Throughout the summer, beginning in mid-June, FMR holds dozens of restoration and educational events. Most are two to three hours in length, offered weekday evenings or weekend mornings, and are free and open to the public. They range from rain garden workshops to seed collection trainings and gatherings; the schedule is available under Events & Activities. The minimum commitment would be eight hours a week, but 12 hours per week is preferred to offer the most well-rounded experience of both office and field work. The schedule is flexible, other than the events (most of which the intern will need to attend). We are happy to schedule around vacations and previous commitments. Additional hours can also be arranged.
