The River Needs Your Voice!

Thanks to our growing base of advocates, FMR has been able to influence key river-related legislation and policies. Victories include closing the St. Anthony lock and dam to protect the Mississippi River from invasive carp, setting a national precedent by banning triclosan — a chemical that turns into cancer-causing compounds in our local waters — throughout Minnesota, and protecting important views of the Mississippi River valley.

But with unprecedented rollbacks looming as well as the creation of new local rules to guide river development throughout the metro, the river needs your voice more than ever.

Sign up to become a River Guardianand we'll be in touch whenever there's an urgent petition to sign or event to attend — such as Water Action Day, April 19, 2017 — about the river issues you care about most!

*Many thanks to the 200+ advocates who recently helped name the program through an online survey! We're proud to have you all on board and look forward to being in touch.
