Bookkeeper

Member of FMR staff since: July 2009

Duties: Perform accounting functions including: processing payments; generating invoices, handling receipts; administering payroll, time sheets & benefits items; maintaining general ledger; preparing financial reports and providing data for the organization as needed.

Education: Bachelors of Science in Industrial Admin.-Accounting from Iowa State University CPA Certificate (Inactive)

Professional Experience: Over 5 years in public accounting for a St. Paul firm which performed a range of services including audits, compilations, tax preparations, data management, payroll services & general accounting support. I also have worked for a quasi-governmental organization, a faith-based organization and served on the board of directors of a non-profit organization for adults with development disabilities.

FMR accomplishment: The FMR staff consists of a group of very competent, dedicated people. I enjoy working as a team with the various members FMR, to which I am able to provide reliable financial information and necessary accounting support.

Family: I chose to leave the work force for a number of years and I have returned only part-time, as much of my time is spent devoted to my family. I am married to Lowell and we have four children, of which three are currently teenagers.

Hobbies: Visiting extended family out-of-town; Volunteering, particularly at our church or children’s school; Being a “Soccer Mom”…also cross-country, track, wrestling…you get the idea; Running, biking & reading mysteries.

Favorite Music: I enjoy listening at times to the “oldies” found on 107.9FM, as well as Christian songs found on 98.5FM. Also, I often listen to country or classical, depending on which of my children has last touched the dial.

Favorite location on the river: Many great things start small, so I would say Itasca State Park is special to me, especially the memories of my children wading, swimming and hiking downstream.

Last big vacation: Our family’s trip to Colorado

Environment hero: Individual people working especially in their own communities by volunteering and using their talents or financial resources to make a positive difference.
