Another Mississippi River Challenge event, another success! With 250 paddlers, we were able to raise just over $100,000 — this is a very high pledge-per-paddler ratio! And roughly 200 members of the Riverfront Support Crew contributed over 1,000 hours to keeping the event up and running on volunteer power. Thank you to all of our paddlers, pledgers, volunteers, sponsors and partners for helping make this year fruitful and memorable.
If you paddled the 2012 Mississippi River Challenge, make sure to respond to our survey if you haven’t already! We need your feedback to make it an even better event next year. If you have thoughts on this year’s event that aren’t addressed by a survey question, please contact Adam at aflett@fmr.org.
We were also very proud to feature a number of musical acts throughout this year’s Mississippi River Challenge, and from what we heard from paddlers, everyone really enjoyed them! So here’s a big thanks, and links for more information on: The Roe Family Singers, The Moonlight Duo, The Ditch Lilies, The Midway-Frogtown Arborators and The Bellow Brothers.
We can’t wait until the next Mississippi River Challenge July 27-28, 2013 — be sure to save the date! It’ll be the 10th anniversary of the Mississippi River Challenge and Friends of the Mississippi River’s 20th anniversary, so we have a very special event in the works. Read more…
