Bookkeeper
Member of FMR staff since: August 2007
Professional experience: Among other jobs, Lois served as a bookkeeper for several years for People, Inc., and also worked for Good Samaritan.
Quote: “It is very rewarding to feel a part of something so important to the river.”
Hobbies: Lois enjoys reading romance novels and other fiction. She also enjoys taking road trips with her husband “and anyone who wants to ride along with us. We usually just get in the van and head in a specific direction with no definite destination, stop and see whatever looks interesting.”
Family: Married for 39 years “to my best friend Rog. We have a wonderful daughter Cindy, son-in-law Mike, and 2-year-old grandpuppy (Shadow), a Siberian Husky.”
Favorite location on the river: Hidden Falls. “When we were growing up, my parents used to take my 10 siblings and me for picnics and fishing down there. It was always such a great experience.”
Last big vacation: 18-day trip to the West in March 2007. “We traveled 5800 miles through California, Nevada, and Arizona. Every fall we go to Branson with about 20 friends for nine days. This will be our ninth year.”
Something not everyone knows about me: “I cannot think of anything that anybody does not know about me. I was number five in a family of 11 siblings and believe me, nobody had any secrets, and now that we are older they still enjoy sharing everything with everyone, so my life is still an open book.”
Conservation/environmental heroes: “I do not have any specific environmental heroes, I just respect and appreciate anyone involved in protecting the environment.” Read more…
