Discover great birding in the urban wilderness and learn more about the new Gorge Stewards volunteer restoration program in Crosby Park.

Floodplain forests, small ponds and limestone bluffs make Crosby Farm one of the best places in the city to see a wide variety of bird species, including shorebirds, wetland species, raptors, warblers and dozens of spring migrants.

You will also learn how you can get involved in improving and protecting this important habitat through a new volunteer initiative between Friends of the Mississippi River and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. This year, the Gorge Stewards program is offering several hands-on restoration events at this at this natural oasis in the heart of the cities, including invasive species removals and plantings.
