Action Alert: Support full funding for Forever Green [CLOSED]

FMR's #1 priority for the 2021 legislative session is full funding for Forever Green, our state's most important sustainable agriculture program.

Take action now to ask your legislators to support full funding for Forever Green.

The University of Minnesota Forever Green Initiative is a research and development program for the next generation of "clean-water crops" like Kernza and camelina that clean up our water and improve habitat while still turning a profit for growers.

Forever Green is at an exciting inflection point. Numerous crops are nearly ready to 'hit the fields' and scale up, which means it's vital to keep funding the research, market development and partnership activities that hold so much promise. FMR plays a key role via our engagement in the Forever Green Partnership, a multisector collaborative that is providing the horsepower to make that scale-up possible.

When fully funded, the Forever Green Initiative will make Minnesota a leader in developing more sustainable, profitable and diverse cropping systems that improve water quality, soil health and habitat, while boosting rural economic development and farm profitability.

We're close: a pair of important committees (one in each chamber) will soon consider whether to provide this full funding. Please take a moment to ask committee members to fully fund Forever Green.
