Bruce Freidson

FMR Finance Director (January 2009-January 2019)

Professional Bio

Bruce has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, and an MBA in Management from the University of Minnesota (Carlson School of Business), a CPA certificate (inactive) and a Mini-MBA in Non-profit Management from the University of St. Thomas.

His experience has been primarily in financial management, most of which has been with non-profit organizations. He has also served on the Board of Directors of a local non-profit, which helps him to see things from a big picture perspective.

Bruce also brings the breadth of experience in small business management and administration; he has worn many hats.

FMR Role through January 2019

Bruce has been on the FMR staff since 2008. He directs all financial activities of FMR. His responsibilities include working with other staff and the Board to prepare the annual budget, facilitating the annual financial audit, financial reporting to the Board of Directors, and managing the organizations investment portfolio. Bruce is also responsible for insurance, risk management, benefits and human resources, and other administrative functions.

Personal Details

Bruce is married, with two grown children, and three young grandchildren, with whom he is actively involved.

He loves to travel, and is an avid hiker. He likes to combine those by going up to the North Shore of Lake Superior, and has been to Alaska twice. He also likes to visit other areas, from large cities to other scenic areas, but is admittedly a country mouse at heart.
