FMR | 2007 Evening Celebrating the River Draws Over 100

On September 20, University of Minnesota president Robert Bruininks and his wife Dr. Susan Hagstrum hosted FMR’s 7th Annual Evening Celebrating the River at Eastcliff, the U of M president’s residence. At this beautiful location overlooking the early fall colors of the river gorge, and in spite of tempestuous weather, over 100 friends of the river gathered to learn about FMR’s 2007 projects and successes, hear a moving testimonial from FMR volunteer and Minnesota Public Radio host Kate Smith, and enjoy fine food and beverages with fellow river enthusiasts. The event raised more than $13,000 for FMR’s work to protect the river and its watershed in the Twin Cities region.
