Working to protect the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area
A double-duty day of service for water quality! Join Friends of the Mississippi River for a cleanup and Storm Drain Stenciling outing in St. Paul's Como Park.
Volunteers will stencil neighborhood storm drains with the message: "Don't Pollute, Drains to Lake" and hang educational doorhangers about storm drain pollution. After that activity, volunteers will pick up trash throughout Como Park.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals, families and small groups looking for a fun and meaningful daytime service outing. Several AmeriCorps volunteers will be in attendance (AmeriCorps is an employement program meant to address critical needs in communities all across America) and other small groups (up to 40) are welcome.
To guarantee adequate supplies, pre-registration is required. To sign up, and for directions to the meeting spot, contact FMR Program Assistant Meghan Dudle at mdudle@fmr.org or 651-222-2193 x23, or select "Stenciling" in the dropdown "Category" on our contact form.
