Working to protect the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area
Come explore the great bird habitat provided by one of the last remaining high-quality natural areas along the river in the Twin Cities metro. This picturesque natural area is not normally accessible to the public.
The Pine Bend Bluffs are located on the west side of the Mississippi River in Dakota County, just 15 miles from downtown St. Paul. This largely undeveloped area includes sand gravel prairies among other now-rare ecosystems.
Bird sightings might include yellow-rumped warblers, phoebes, fly-catchers, thrushes, bluebirds and other spring migrants. Early spring wildflowers could also be abundant at this time.
