Cost-share programs for river-friendly landscaping

Since river-friendly landscaping brings great benefits to communities, grants and funding for the installation of raingardens, native gardens, permeable pavers, and other stormwater management practices are often available through watershed districts, management organizations and conservation districts.

Here are a few to look into:

BWSR's Lawns to Legumes Program: Available to residents to support pollinator habitat creation in yards.
Capitol Region Watershed District's stewardship grants: Available to residents in portions of Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Maplewood, Roseville and St. Paul
Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District's stewardship grants: Available to residents in the eastern Twin Cities metro
Mississippi Watershed Management Organization's stewardship fund grants: Available to groups and organizations in portions of Minneapolis, St. Paul, the City of St. Anthony Village and Lauderdale
Scott County Soil and Water Conservation District's technical assistance and cost-share program: Available to residents in Scott County
South Washington Watershed District cost share program: Available to residents within SWWD
